The Week of 1/10-1/14

There is a late-opening this week, so the only FLEX time for makeups and help will be Tuesday at lunch.  The semester is ending quickly, so please make sure that you take care of any loose ends this week!  Talk to me if you have concerns about particular assignments, labs, or tests.

Monday 1/10:  Check off HW p. 261 1,3,4 and go over.  Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation.  HW p. 265 1-3.  Escape velocity.  Circular Motion Lab due tomorrow.
Tuesday 1/11:  Turn in Circular Motion Lab if not already.   Check off p. 265 HW and go over.  Introduce torque HW p. 282 1-3.   Start torque lab.
Thursday 1/13:  Check off p. 282 HW and go over.  Finish Torque Lab.  Center of Mass and Moment of Inertia.  Newton's 2nd law for rotating objects.  HW p. 291 1-3.  Figure out the diagram and math problem for your project due next week.  Have Ms. Kenny check it off by tomorrow!
Friday 1/14:  Check off 291 HW and go over.  Angular momentum and conservation of angular momentum.  Demonstrate with rotating platform.  HW p. 294 1-5, due Tues 1/18.

Remember that your Physics in Motion Project is due Thursday 1/20!
